Ohio began to offer an Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver as another long-term care option for individuals with Medicaid in July 2006. The Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver pays for the cost of care (not room and board) in participating Assisted Living communities in Ohio. Consumers are responsible for the cost of their room and board at a rate set by the state. For more information on the Program or eligibility criteria, please contact Ohio’s Association of Area Agencies on Aging (OAAAA), or your local Area Agency on Aging, www.ohioaging.org.
NOTICE: The Ohio Budget bill reduced Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver provider rates by 3%.
Effective July 1, 2011 the new rates are:
Tier 1: $48.48/day
Tier 2: $58.20/day
Tier 3: $67.88/day
Community Transition Service: $1,455
